About the school
Narnia is a Primary and Secondary school founded over 20 years ago by the Free evangelical church – Church of Bretheren. Our school is built upon three key pillars: outstanding academic program, character building program based on our Christian heritage, and our international programm with key component in high quality English education. We have created a safe, supportive and secure environment accepting each pupil as they are and giving them opportunities to develop their gifts. We pride ourselves in finding new innovative methods to deliver our students the best education we possibly can. Our aim is that our graduates are responsible young adults, with admirable characters who are ready to live and make positive contributions in our multi-cultural world.
Extra – Curricular activities
In order to provide our students with a broad, balanced and enriching curriculum we organise a variety of extra-curricular activities, events and trips. This enables us to develop the whole child and encourage our students to develop their special gifts and talents. It also enables us to use and develop our staffs gifts and talents to their full potential.

English Programme
Since we are a Slovak School, our main language of instruction is Slovak. However, we have a strong language programme, which enables our students to be reasonably fluent English speakers when they finish Primary School.
Throughout the Primary and Secondary School students have 5 hours of English a week, taught by Native speakers and Slovaks (who are competent English speakers). When students have studied English for three years we start to introduce subjects in English. In the fourth Grade (Year 5), they learn Science in English, in the 5th Grade (Year 6) Religious Education, in the 6th Grade (Year 7) History and in the Seventh Grade (Year 8) Geography . In the 8th and 9th grades we focus upon preparing students for 6th Form as many go on to study in an English focused Sixth Form which enables them to later study at various universities abroad.
Want to participate?
If you are interested in our school then there are two main ways in which you could be involved.
Teachers: We are always on the look out for enthusiastic, dynamic, creative Native speakers to join our growing team of teachers.
Partnership: We are looking for a school to partner with (through penfriends, projects, exchanges) in order to develop our students understanding, knowledge and experience with students of a similar age from different cultures.
If either of these options are appealing to you, then be bold and knock on the wardrobe door. You will not be disappointed. Life in Narnia is an adventure.
Where to find us
Our schools are located in Slovakia, a country in the heart of Europe. Slovakia is a small, not so well-known country, yet its countryside is beautiful, breathtaking and not to be missed. The main Elementary school and our Bilingual gymnazium of C.S.Lewis (equivalent of highschool) are located in the capital city Bratislava. We have two smaller branch of our Elementary School in Pezinok (a small picturesque wine town in the valley of the Carpathian mountains just outside Bratislava).
Besides exploring the beautiful Slovakia, the location of schools makes it a great base for exploring Europe – with cheap flights from Bratislava airport with Ryanair to many cities around Europe, with trains and short distance travel to cities like Prague, Krakow, Budapest or Vienna. The neighboring airport in Vienna allows even further travel.
